Hello, my name is Tiia, and I come from Estonia. Estonia is a small country on the coast of the Baltic Sea with around 1.3 million people. In Estonia, students start learning English at the age of eight or nine. They usually have four to five lessons a week up to the end of the secondary school. English is our first foreign language, and it is mainly used for communication purposes. The ability to speak English enables to communicate easily with the people around the world and also appropriately understand the real-life situations and different cultures. It also helps to explore the world with confidence.
