Hello, everyone! My Name is Hanan. I am from Syria. I am currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at a national university in Japan. In Syria we learn English for 12 years at school. We also learn Arabic and French. In the past, English was important only for people who wanted to study English at university. However, recently many universities in Syria require students majoring in medicine or engineering to take international tests such as TOEFL and IELTS. I think everyone should have the ability to communicate in English, as it is the most spoken language in the world.
